Jack's Second Lesson.. Structure..Ok, it's a hot Sunday morning and Jack and I went into the garden again to look at one simple Systema drill... I thought I'd see what he would make of structure and look at how he would take someone down to the ground using some simple pushing and pulling.. Jack hasn't done any of this before, It was all down to him to work things out for himself, without too much help from me...See what you think...Steve

May 12, 2008 - nice clip.what a lovely drill, in its own simplicity. i think i will copy it myself :-) it shows very well which body-mechanics are involved, and sometimes i cant find out what to do next, when i have my opponent bent down to some degree. By doing this i think one will improve the understanding of where to push and pull...Lars

May 16, 2008 - Oh, I really like this clip. I think its a great way for Jack to get the idea of Systema. He is very good and has a great insight/instinct most of the time where to pull/push. I especially like the move he pulled off between 53 - 62 seconds. That one in particular is a keeper! Great job guys!

May 16, 2008 - You can also mention to him that after the initial push/pull he often has a great opportunity to wrap his arm around the opponents neck, pulling him backwards and such. Of course with "great power comes great responsibility", so I hope that Jack will not get into any fight, doing any of these potential risky neck moves. Have a nice day!
