This is the same starfish from 'Sea urchin & starfish' four months later. I found this creature washed up on the beach at about the same time as the sea urchin. In the first video this starfish was about 1 1/2" across, and now he's about 4". He grew fast. Eats bologna, just like the sea urchin.I'm calling this creature 'him' as a writing convention - I have no idea what sex this starfish is.This video opens with a shot from underneath - the starfish looks weird because his arms are reflecting off the water's surface. This is what he does when he's hungry, climbs up to the surface and waves his tube-feet around. The shot from above shows the feet.I have the starfish and sea urchin in the same tank, separated by a pane of glass, and this starfish keeps dreaming up ways to sneak past/around/over the glass and hunt down the urchin. We've caught him over there 3-4 times, he and the urchin engaged in a really really low-speed chase. Just now when I looked in he was trying it again.I half-expect to wake up some night and find him latched onto my face.
