In summary, SPIRITUAL ATHEISTS are people who are:1) ATHEISTS Spiritual Atheists do not believe in the existence of an entity external to the universe that created and rules the universe.2) SPIRITUAL Spiritual Atheists believe that the entire universe is, in some way, connected; even if only by the mysterious flow of cause and effect at every scale. Therefore, Spiritual Atheists generally feel that as they go about their lives striving to be personally healthy and happy, they should also be striving to help the world around them be healthy and happy! ("Wholistic Ethics")The goal of Spiritual Atheism is not to provide a specific spiritual philosophy (that is your own responsibility); but, rather, to unify all Spiritual Atheists, regardless of their particular philosophies and points of view.

Jul 19, 2008 - I would say that I'm a spiritual atheist, but not in the sense of belief in any kind of spirit or supernatural. Some activities can be seen as spiritual as opposed to material. I agree the entire universe is connected; how can it not be, since it was all in a singularity 13.7 billion years ago? Again, this is nothing supernatural. BTW, enjoyed the Bach, good example of something spiritual but not religious.

Jul 20, 2008 - to avoid finger tap dancing on the keyboard for about on hour explaining the impossibility of and contradictions of "spiritual atheism" i just rather just tell you to do some research on sacred geometry which irrefutably explains this connection. "E Pluribus Unum "

Jul 20, 2008 - NihilistZealot, I did't mean to deleate your comment. You're right, there are Atheist, both spiritual and otherwise, that do not believe that the answers to the origin of existance will be found through science. Though, I do believe that a the majority of atheist lean more tourds such beliefs, I was my mistake to say "the one thing that THE Spiritual atheist is sure of..." It would have been more acurate to say "the one thing that I, AS A Spiritual Atheist is sure of...". Nice imput. Thanks!

Jul 20, 2008 - To refer to spiritual Atheism as an impossibility, only showcases your ignorance of Spiritualism and Atheism alike. An Atheist is nothing more than someone that lacks belief in God(s). Spirituality has many forms. Anything relating to a soul or spirit. Things sacred or religious. Affinity of the mind, spirit, or temperament. Or merely refinement and concern with the higher things in life. Futhermore, "E Pluribus Unum" captures the basics of Spiritual Atheism: "Out of Many,we are One".

Jul 20, 2008 - im aware of the definitions of both, im also aware that spiritual knowledge has tremendously deteriorated. therefore you have a perverted version of spirituality just like religion does. if you had the correct version then you wouldn't be atheist nor would there be more then one religion. to correctly define spirituality you have to take the esoteric teachings of the ancients and study occultism. study Kabbalah, Hermeticism, Alchemy, Mayan Calender, Symbolism, Vortex energy, Sacred Geometry etc

illuminated1WUN1 Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - besides, all you have is a belief system that its "some way" connected, which would require the same amount of faith as the religious people have since YOU have no evidence otherwise the "some way" wouldn't have been mentioned. as opposed to true spiritualist who can prove this undoubtedly with numerology / mathematics / geometry etc but don't get me wrong or anything, im not trying to discourage you but you are unconsciously heading towards a direction of rediscovery rather then discovery.

illuminated1WUN1 Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - that direction is God realization. besides, you definitely would fall into conflict with other atheists way more then a spiritualist. mysticism has always resulted in unity. why not use atheistic mysticism then? but if i could be helpful somewhat in this enigmatic intimacy feeling of connectivity you desire. the Fourth Way Enneagram or the Fibonacci number sequence would be a start. goodday!

Jul 20, 2008 - You have been lied to. Muhammad is not the messenger of Allah.

Jul 20, 2008 - Oh dear, I was afraid this would bring out the new age looneys. "Science can't tell us everything, so every bullshit new age (actually, it's all rehashed old crap) "theory" is true." New age nonsense is as bad as religion -- nay, it is religion.

Jul 20, 2008 - make a direct comment to what i was actually saying, not something completely irrelevant and i will respond directly

Jul 28, 2008 - Of course not 'God' couldn't have possibly done it, nope it all came from nothing the big bang yep nothing made it.Forget the scientific fact that nothing can come from nothing.

Shenalmighty Says:

Jul 28, 2008 - I love how self refuting this video is.

podiumman2 Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - You're making a strawman argument; cosmologists haven't said "it came from nothing." The thinking at present is that the stuff of the universe, matter, energy, and dark matter and energy, all were in the "cosmic egg" before the expansion or "bang" as it is mislabeled.
