Dec 5, 2008 - Hey I think my videos should get this option, any idea where I am going wrong? I use Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 to render. I have copy and pasted the specs which I render as and posted them below, please let me know if you see any errors.Audio: 64 Kbps, 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo.Video: 29.970 fps, 720x480, Quality VBR 90, WMV V9 Compression. Thanks

DerekForPresident Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - Those look like the settings you chose, which can differ in bitrate from the actual video. Always check with MediaInfo and be *sure* the video ended up being 1000kbps or higher, as in this video: /watch?v=HDHaE2x0bCc

DerekForPresident Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - It's sometimes under AVC, or MP4. I think Vegas does work with x264 - install the codec if it's not there.

Dec 5, 2008 - or, if you have wmm all you have to do is once you save it, instead of selecting best quality for playback on computer, click high quality large.

crookedtool Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - My videos have a lot of motion and so even the high quality video looks blocky. Would I see an improvement in image quality if I dropped down from 30 fps to 24 fps?

calyx06 Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - forget this, just Add &fmt=18 to the end of the video's url

DerekForPresident Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - If your camera can do it, yes. But if you're converting frame rates later, often the drawbacks are just as bad as the problems you have now. I have done it as an experiment in AviSynth with:Yadif(mode=1).SelectEvery(10,0,2,5,7)You can also try with MVTools, but that is a very advanced route and usually takes a lot of tinkering.

Dec 5, 2008 - that doesnt work

zice39 Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - at the top of the screen, go to Share, click on Quicktime, Compress movie for: Expert Settings, Share, Options, and then tweak the all the settings for: Video - Settings, Filter, Size and then down to the Sound - Settings, then OK and it'll make a compressed quicktime file and place the file where you tell it to. I put all of mine into Movies.

Dec 5, 2008 - Hmmm... this tutorial needs to be redone AGAIN! YouTube has now gone to widescreen players. When will this madness end!? Can you help me with the widescreen "HD" now instead of just "high quality"? I saw a video that filled up the widescreen and had "Watch in HD"! It was amazing quality. I couldn't tell the difference, I don't have an HD monitor, but it was amazing, anyway. Please help. Thanks!

Zuperfreser Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - I CAN HELP YOU ITS THAT EASY: When he take rezize, u take it to 640x360:)

DerekForPresident Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - Yeah, I just put out a video on that.

DerekForPresident Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - Actually, you're right. There is a "Watch in HD" option. Stay tuned.

TheWeddingProducer Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - Jesus fucking Christ. This is madness!! I can't keep track of all these settings and steps just to post a good quality video. Everytime I try a certain setting it takes 30 minutes to export the movie. Then it takes another 30 minutets to upload it to YouTube! So everytime I try a different setting it costs me a fucking hour and it usually doesn't work. Why can't YouTube just get their shit together and allow people to upload good quality videos??

DerekForPresident Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - Progress has growing pains.

TheWeddingProducer Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - 14 MONTHS OF GROWING PAINS?? Every time I use "suggested settings" my file is over 100MB.
