Rich in Mich. tuned. Now it is much smoother, CF designed custom shroud, shortened barrel...velocity with 10.5gr at 920 fps. BTW, 1600 fps is for noobs who don't know airguns. Airgunning is an Accuracy Sport, shot placement is crucial and must be done Consistently!!! The gun now is Smooth, trigger is very light, and finally a lower pellet velocity to stabilize the pellet making it much more accurate. A night and day difference between the Stock Hunter Extreme and this one. Optics is CenterPoint 4-16x40 AO mil-dot that can focus down to 5 yards parallax, illum. reticle and Accushot Medium Rings.

Sep 4, 2008 - If it is stock...it's a crap shoot because the trigger in stock form isn't that consistent..very stiff and lots of creep...plus that jolt and twang is very harsh...AND the velocity is so high that the pellets are not that stable and fly not straight. If you shoot for an extended session, the grouping would vary from pretty decent (say 1" at 25m) in one and then it would be wild (like 3" at 25m).

Sep 4, 2008 - cont....After tuning, I'm able to hit a 1.25" spinner set at 40m about 7 or 8 times in 10 shots. Reason for me is that the trigger is much better to "predict" when the gun was going to go off...and the lowered velocity allows the pellet to stabilize...pellets are not designed to go over 900 fps.

Sep 18, 2008 - In standard trim...I feel it's a bit over priced for what you get. The biggest gripe for paying close to $500 for one is the trigger!!! Basically it is a very powerful airgun that isn't even refined..and to be honest, power isn't everything. Hence the tune to make it more enjoyable to shoot. If stock airgun is what you prefer...get something a bit more refined.

Sep 27, 2008 - You can send it in to get "shrouded" and that makes a difference in sound....it can't be removed without destroying the shroud...I rather spend the money on the tune to get the trigger and firing cycle better.
