The SSCS had huge success in the last campaign against Japan's illegal whaling operations. This season SSCS have vowed to saved even more whales. The rising cost of fuel and oil means that $750,000 will need to be raised to make sure they get back out there. The SSCS have taken matters into their own hands to save these beautiful creatures. We need to take matters into our own hands to make sure they can.

icelandic2008 Says:

May 17, 2008 - Sea Shepherd and Paul Watson give us all hope for the future!Well done Sea Shepherd crew.

canucktunes Says:

May 21, 2008 - Whales should be protected but the piracy and acts of vigilantism Sea Shepherd performs is unacceptable. They have extended their mandate beyond simple protests and are endangering lives by throwing acid and other dangerous materials on ships. They have given themselves the authority to enforce international law and their interpretations of international law, yet believe they are unaccountable when it comes to these very laws. They've also concealed their identities on several campaigns.

00whale00 Says:

May 22, 2008 - I understand what you're saying - but Sea Shepherd have never been convicted of any crimes. And I'd like to point out that what the Japanese are doing is a blatant disregard for international law. Like Watson says - if you want to stop pirates, you need pirates to do it.

canucktunes Says:

May 22, 2008 - They are currently facing charges here in Canada for numerous violations and their own footage condemns them. You can find videos of these people disregarding a ten meter limit imposed on the observers of the hunt by law and you can see them nearing sealers with their ship, in complete disregard for the safety of these sealers. They also openly violate Marine Mammal Regulations in Canada by touching and handling these seals for their videos. This is also prohibited by law in the states !

00whale00 Says:

May 23, 2008 - Yeah, but they haven't been convicted. And the "violations" they're facing are the fact that they took video footage and photos of the slaughter. Yup, sinful. And they care more about the safety of sealers than the sealers themselves. Those men died because of their own incompetency and unsafe equipment. And dont get me started on violating Regulations by touching seals... Come on, we've all seen what the sealers do out there. How's that not violation?

canucktunes Says:

May 23, 2008 - Actually, no. They weren't arrested for observing the hunt. They were arrested for disregarding orders in regards to the distance they should have kept from the hunters. It seems to be a big problem for them to respect it, even when they're on foot and are just asked to stay 10 meters away from the sealers. You can find footage of Sea Shepherd engaging and provoking sealers, within the 10 meter limit here on Youtube. You can also find footage of the incident that resulted in the arrest here.

00whale00 Says:

May 23, 2008 - It's a big problem for them to respect the fact that people must stand by and watch sealers hack away at life? That would a big problem for anyone who had respect for life. There is something inherently wrong when the people doing all the killing can stand by with their bloody hak-a-piks and point their fingers at those trying to prevent the slaughter and call them "criminals".They're only "cimininals" by the standards of Canada's own obscure laws. And that says a lot.

canucktunes Says:

May 23, 2008 - You know, it's not like our news services aren't online. They all are. With a simple Google search you would have found out that the Acadien II crew weren't at fault, weren't operating their "equipment" when it capsized and were asleep at the time, unfortunately at the wrong place. It was an unfortunate incident caused by numerous factors outside of the Acadien II crew's control yet here you are, parroting Sea Shepherd's opportunistic rhetoric.

canucktunes Says:

May 23, 2008 - Ah, so you believe touching is illegal for a trivial reason, huh ? Is death by starvation trivial ? Yes, Sea Shepherd always appears to omit that scenario from their propaganda. The human scent annoys and confuses the pup's mothers so much that they stop feeding them. And all they have as a response is "they were going to die anyway". How convenient.

canucktunes Says:

May 23, 2008 - People who eat meat depend on the slaughter of animals every day. Sea Shepherd is simply relying on the seal hunt's openness to imply a difference that doesn't exist. Slaughterhouses are as brutal, as bloody but it is contained and sanitized. Where's Sea Shepherd's credibility ? They get observer's licenses on condition that they stay 10 meters away but don't. And when they're refused observer's licenses because of these violations, the whine about censorship - Others have filmed this year !!!

00whale00 Says:

May 23, 2008 - They wouldn't be out there in the first place if it weren't for those barbarians, would they?

00whale00 Says:

May 23, 2008 - Yes, people who eat meat. It's an entirely different story - we're talking about seals, most of whose skins get ripped from their flesh while they're still alive. They're clubbed and then die painfully and slowly. For what? Do Canadians eat 350,000 seals each year? And even if they did, what animal deserves to die like that?

canucktunes Says:

May 24, 2008 - I didn't know the environmentalist HAD to touch and handle the seals to observe the hunt. I guess someone's holding a gun to their head, huh ?These are American lobby groups and in the states it's illegal as well. They have no excuse to do it.

SSCSactivist Says:

May 30, 2008 - Sea Shepherd and Paul Watson will save the Oceans for our future generations as no-one else dares stand up to these cruel and corrupt companies and governments!

ILuvCaptPaulWatson Says:

May 31, 2008 - Super video.

sweetsntreats Says:

Sep 21, 2008 - Sea Shephard is a terrorist organization as recognized by the international community. They should be dismantled.

Lorraine56838 Says:

Sep 30, 2008 - Sea Shepherd Crew are all HEROES and should be commended for their effort in coning forward and doing what the Governments should be doing "if they had the courage", You however are recognized as a MORON and should be treated as such. Go watch some more porn and be quiet ya wanker.

sweetsntreats Says:

Oct 1, 2008 - Seeing as they are being prosecuted now by the Japanese government, I guess it is you who is wrong. But that argument about me being a wanker was pretty convincing. Way to go.

Lorraine56838 Says:

Oct 1, 2008 - We'll see how far the Japanese Gov gets with the process. People are prosecuted for things all the time but that doesn't necessarily mean they are guilty or will be found guilty. As for Sea Shepherd...as I said they are just doing what the Australian Government should be doing for their own Country but for lack of courage fail to do. As for my opinion of you...I call it like I see it according to your favs and all your mates.

WhalersRBrainDamaged Says:

Oct 1, 2008 - Japs are always twisting things around and bending the rules to support their own selfish greedy desires. Sea Shepherd has the balls to stand up to them and stop them from Illegal whaling, there is no research, which is something that has already been proven and the Australian Government have filed charges but again ... Will anything come of that either? I doubt it. Japan uses bribery to ensure they get what they want. Japan is full of Greedy, Barbaric and self centered little bastards.

sweetsntreats Says:

Oct 3, 2008 - It's nice to see that you conservationists are blatant racists. and the fact that at least 2 people agreed with your comment "Japs...are greedy, barbaric and self centered little bastards" just clinches it. Out of curiosity: how about niggers? hate them too? they always be eatin all da chicken, dey sho do. and chickens be havin feelings to, sho nuff.
