Nov 19, 2008 - Pizzagirl had candy stole from him when he was little and accused all the kids on the block for doing it.Because his eyes where swollen shuthe could not tell who ate the candy so he told his mommy it was all the kids.

Nov 19, 2008 - I see you hit on that analogy too. It's so damn obvious that anyone who's taken an H.S. civics class should understand it clearly. What's even worse is that it's the person who was robbed that's allowed to bust down the doors without oversight. I also noticed that these corporate bootlickers, like battim, are using the RW authoritarian trope of, "Well, if you're innocent then you have nothing to worry about". These people scare me.

Nov 19, 2008 - Post#1:Frag, I think it's you that doesn't understand the law. You say that,'stealing is different from copying.' In relation to Fed. copyr. law copying IS stealing. Copyrights grant the owner the exclusive right to sell, DISTRIBUTE, and COPY their works. If you were to charge 10 ppl $5.00 each to watch a copyrighted video you've violated federal law. Now, what would you call posting say,6 minutes of a hollywood hit on Youtube and making that clip accessible to a billion Youtube users?...Post#2

FragUPlenty Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - ok keep it to 1 post dont spam up the text comments.

fraud1958 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Post#2... I'd call it blatant infringement. Think how posting a few minutes could affect the marketability of that movie. If that video gets 100,000 hits in a year and even 10% of those viewers forego a purchase of the full video then the loss could be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for that corp. If anyone posts a copyrighted video they may be seriously damaging the marketability of that work and may be civilly liable, in my opinion...Post#3

FragUPlenty Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - k first warning. If you have that much to share then put it into a video. I dont want to cary on a debate with you in text comments.

fraud1958 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Post#3...And the argument that a posted video may HELP sales of a movie is not a decision to be made by the infringer but the owner. And 'fair use' is a poor defense here because it's a slippery slope. If one can post for commentary then so can we all. But if we all share are views and special clips of copyrighted works then copyr. protection is nullified. Meaning, that the end result would be a denial of copyright protection for legal copyright holders...post4

Nov 19, 2008 - "Well, if you're innocent then you have nothing to worry about".Cehbeach, I had so many idiots say that to me when criticizing the Patriot Act after it was first passed. You know... back when Bush's approval rating used to be 90%.

cehbeach Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - I'm sure these pinheads were saying the same thing then that they are now. Some people just take to sucking up to authority a little too quickly for my taste.
