My second visit to Chicago and I have a new camera this time! YAAAAAY! I love trains. When I was a little girl, I used to take trains with my mom from Cincy to Denver to San Diego, to Utah and back to Cincy again. It seemed we were always on the train as my mother conducted a futile search for her elusive dream. This trip to Chicago reminded me of these fond, early memories of my life. I love the sound of trains, the vibration of trains. Even though these trains were not like the ones I traveled on in the 50's and 60's, they were enough to evoke memories, even scents I have carried inside me all this while.THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT THIS TRIP:* CHICAGO SUNSET* CHICAGO TOLL STATION* THE DECK* THE TRAINS* MILLENIUM PARK* THE BEAN* THE FACE FOUNTAINS* DINNER IN THE SQUARE* THE HOT GUY FROM GERMANY* THE SUBWAY* PARTY!* THE YAY GIRLSI love Chicago and trains and I love the Yay Girls! Nov 19, 2008 - Thanks! I love that big mirrored ball too. I think they call it the bean, because it is really shaped like a bean. I don't think you can really tell that from my photos though. It is a fascinating sculpture and people are drawm to it like ants to a grain of sugar. That's what I thought as I sat watching all the people gather around it. COOLSOME!
